Thomas Panasco Arrecife
One of the most established clothing stores in Arrecife. Offering mens and
womens designer wear in beautiful antique surroundings. Stockists of Ralph
Lauren, Hilfiger, Armani, Klein etc.
If you're lucky enough to time your holiday with one of the sale periods, then
you simply have to go here. Situated right in the heart of the shopping district
in the pedestrianised zone.
Good Lord! this is where I could go on for hours! But I won't because Lanzarote takes you by surprise even when it comes to shopping. Especially during the sales or rebajas as they are called here. During sale time you will find genuine reductions up to 70% on even the most luxurious designer brands. That's one of the attractions of living here for any self confessed shopaholic.
Arrecife has everything from Cartier to Prada, Ralph Lauren to Carolina Herrera and there are shops that cater for every taste. It is worth noting that Arrecifes' opening hours are generally 10am until 1.30pm and the 5pm to 8pm on weekdays. 10 am until 1.30pm on Saturdays and YES they actually close on Sunday so you CAN go to the beach without feeling guilty about possibly missing a bargain!
However the city has a marvellous beach of its' own so you could shop from 10am, have a spot of lunch, get some sun and hit the shops again at opening time! How's that for all inclusive?
Deiland shopping centre is open 6 days a week all day, this is the main shopping mall on the island. Containing many of the Spanish chain stores it also has a food court but still manages to feel 'local'.
The Biosfera in Puerto Del Carmen is open all day every day and you'll find many recognised outlets here.
Playa Blanca has Marina Rubicon the ultimate waterside shopping village built within a working marina. Whilst for real designer junkies a trip to Puerto Calero will give you the ultimate selection of designer stores.
The local currency in Lanzarote is the Euro. Nearly everywhere will accept Visa, Mastercard and Maestro but for a large purchase or in some smaller establishments it is wise to confirm this first. However, Lanzarote is not short of cash machines. But one thing is IMPORTANT , when paying by card here you will need photographic identification, so carrying your passport with you will save you a huge amount of dissapointment when buying your new Rolex! Some establishments will accept your photo driving licence as identification.
