Lanzarote has long been a magnet for the artisitic and creative. It is not just Cesar Manrique that has found inspiration amongst the volcanoes, many artists have made their homes here and you'll find galleries all over the island and in the most unexpected of places.
We simply cannot list all of the artists on the island but here are a few of those we like to call friends. From painters, photographers, sculptors to jewellers and potters there's a whole host of artistic avenues to explore. Many of the artists exhibit their work across the world but have made Lanzarote their home. Lanzarote also has some incredible artists when it comes to body art. Here, body art doesn't have the same sort of taboo as it does in the UK. Everyone seems to be inked, even the bank clerks! Perhaps it's the sunshine lifestyle and the fact that so many of us spend time on the beach that the boudaries are broken down here. Whatever the reason, there are some highly talented tattooists on the island. If tattooing is your thing, we can even reccommend a great skin artist that will give you a very different kind of souvenir to take home!
