Dominic Murray

Dominic was born in Doncaster in the north of England and moved to London 1978. He worked in Theatre, Television and Film, running his workshop until 2002 working for Television companies, Films, Theatres and Opera Houses. The work revolved around Animal and Creature costumes, Masks, from flying Dame Edna around the Haymarket Theatre to Disney’s Lion King and Beauty and the Beast, from grandiose Opera Costume to Mr Blobby. A very varied job.
Painting from a very young age, a pencil always being his preferred choice of entertainment, in his 40’s he decided to go back to painting and came to Lanzarote. Dominic had first started visiting Lanzarote in the 80’s, some 20 years ago. He felt here , with the abundance of wonderful light, the peaceful, haunting topography and the beauty of nature all around, it was the perfect place to work.
He now lives full time in La Villa Teguise, exhibiting his work in London, Scotland and Lanzarote
